What Are Crows Feet?

Crows feet is a common name used to describe the wrinkles that appear on the side of the eyes, extending to the temples. It can occur as early as the late twenties in both men and women.

The Main Cause of Crow's Feet

The primary cause of crow's feet is a loss of collagen and elastin as a result of ageing. The skin uses collagen and elastin to help maintain its elasticity; however, the production of these proteins drop as we age.

Crow's feet can be a result of frequent contractions of the eyes such as squinting, laughing, or concentrating. Combined with exposure to pollutants as well as certain lifestyle factors, wrinkles and lines can appear along the sides of the eye. The skin surrounding the eye is more prone to wrinkling because it is quite thin.
